UrFU Summer School MaLaHIT
The international summer school MaLaHIT-2020 is held by the Ural Federal University from June 22 to July 4, 2020 for students and young researchers. During the school program, participants will receive new knowledge and skills in the field of machine learning, and will learn to apply it in practice.
What is the structure of MaLaHIT-2020?
MaLaHIT-2020 will be divided into three main sections of work from June 22, 2020 to July 4, 2020:
June 22-26, 2020
The section of intensive studies implies participants’ attendance of lectures necessary for better understanding of the School material. This includes lectures on some of the basics of mathematics – linear algebra, mathematical analysis, optimization theory, probability theory and information theory, as well.
The School’s program includes lectures on the following topics: Linear algebra, Probability theory and information theory, Mathematical analysis and optimization theory.
June 29 - July 2, 2020
The School section is dedicated to more thorough study of machine learning issues. The school will be attended by leading world experts whose professional field is related to machine learning.
MaLaHIT-2020 program includes lectures and master classes, which will be conducted by researchers of leading universities from around the globe:
Ivan Mikhailin (University of California, San Diego, USA) will conduct classes on the topic: Algorithm analysis: how to understand quality and resource consumption of your algorithm.
Ivan Yamshchikov (Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences, Leipzig, Germany) will present the topic: “Thinking as a machine learner”.
July 3-4, 2020
International scientific-practical conference “Theory and applications of machine learning” welcomes to participate researchers, teachers, graduate and post-graduate students of universities, as well as company specialists who use machine learning in their work.
The main areas of the conference work include:
According to the conference results there will be published a collection of materials in the public domain on the CEUR platform at Workshop Proceedings, which is indexed by Scopus. The collection will include the selected works presented in the face-to-face form. Only original research can be demonstrated at the conference. All the submitted materials are reviewed.
